The History of the Berkeley County SPCA

Since 1991 the Berkeley County S.P.C.A. believes that animals, as living creatures have value beyond economic measurement and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection.

Over 10,000 animals in Berkeley County alone are put to sleep because of the animal population. Did you know that Berkeley County is the size of Rhode Island? Did you know that each man, woman and child would have to have 8 animals per person in order to give all the animals a home? Did you know that only 1 out of 10 animals in a shelter get a home? Please help stop the over population and have your animal spayed/neutered. The Berkeley County SPCA will assist anyone who is low-income that wants to have their animals spayed/neutered. Call 797-0610 for more information on this program.
