Outfitting is always a popular topic of converation among boaters, I'm partial to the
various forms of the canoe so look here for ideas / pictures of C-1, OC-1, and flatwater
canoe outfitting.
The pictures below are of a conversion by Jamie Dors of a Wave Sport Score - he's made use
of the attachment point for the kayak thigh braces and uses a lap belt. A very profesional conversion!

The pictures below are of my Ultra Clean C-1, I outfitted it almost from scratch, borrowing heavily
from how my Whiplash is outfitted. The base is a "pod" made by Noah for converting K-1s to C-1s,
probably back when cockpits weren't so long (not long enough to span the distance between the bow
and stern walls). I riveted a strip of ABS to the bottom so I could lock it down laterally by screwing
it to the existing thigh brace screws. The mint green material is mini-cell from an aerobic step that I saved
from the land fill - that was about $30 worth of material! No thigh straps at this point, I'm still trying to figure out a
good way to have a foam thigh retainer (similar to a bulk head) that I can cinch down. So far it's OK,
but I can tolerate a loose boat. The width of the boat has allowed me a pedestal height
of about 9" without compromising stability, making this the most comfortable C-1 I've ever paddled.

The pictures below are of my Whiplash C-1, I believe that it was originally outfitted
by Mike Yee.

This is a Dagger Interlude that I outfitted with a sliding seat in the bow and a
paddling thwart amidships for solo paddling. This has been a wonderful canoe - it's
fast in a straight line and turns on a dime when heeled over. It's capable running
downriver on the Nanty, but with it's low gunwales amidship, it get's a bit wet in
waves... It's my boat of choice for the twisty upper reaches of the Edisto!

This is my OC-1 and its the veteran of quite a few campaigns... Note the double
thigh strap, the knee cups, and foot pegs - indispenable if you want to roll. The ankle
blocks make for long distance comfort. What is less visible is a hole bored through
the saddle to allow water to smoothly flow from one side to the other while rolling.

This is a Dagger Quake I outfitted for a local paddling shop (Adventure Carolina,
Cayce, SC). The factory outfitting consists of Dagger's C-1 pedestal (ala Cascade and
Atom) bolted in - a nice feature being that you can move the whole arrangement forward and
backwards about 6" in the field by loosening the knobbed nuts.
I engineered an attachment for the footpegs using some 4" vinyl downspout and set
up a double thighstrap.

This is another demo boat I outfitted for Adventure Carolina. This I setup with a
foam pedestal, foot pegs and a double thigh strap. (Check out Bob Foote's Homepage for specific pointers about
positioning your anchors for the double thighstrap.)

This is a new Liquid Logic Saddle (first one made, I was told) that I saw at the 2002 NOC GAF.
the hip pad were not part of it. The foam bulkhead obscures the front part. I didn't see any
way provided to attach a lower thigh strap anchor.

This is an adjustable thigh strap anchor I saw in an Old Noah C-1 at the 2002 NOC GAF. It is made
from a short section of Yakima foot peg.
