This model resulted from me getting tired of using the standard LEGO canopies for cockpits.  I got the cockpit design for photos of one of Karim Nassar's models.  That particular model is no longer on his site.  Interestingly, at least to me, I was working on this design at the same time that a discussion on using canopy pieces for engines.  This discussion was taking place on the now obsolete LCAD mailing list.
