Drywall Calculator

Terminology

The following are definitions that apply to this calculator only. Please refer to the Terminology sections of the individual calculators that you are using to ensure correct material outputs.

  1. Height - The distance as measured from the floor to the ceiling.
  2. Length - The distance as measured from corner to corner on the longest side of the room.
  3. Width - The distance as measured from corner to corner on the shortest side of the room.
  4. Waste - The drywall pieces you will throw away when cutting the drywall to fit your wall. Please choose the amount of waste you would like calculated. 10% waste is common.
  5. Openings - Measure the windows and doors in the room. Always measure from the inside of the molding to the inside of the molding. Multiply the height by the width. Enter the total value in the section marked 'Openings'. This will be deducted from the total square footage prior to calculating your figures.

You will need at least:   rolls of drywall tape to cover the drywall joints.
You will need to purchase:   buckets of premixed drywall mud to cover the joints.
