“The parties were bigger...the pace was faster, the shows were broader,
the buildings were higher, the morals were looser....”

F. Scott Fitzgerald

The '20s was a time when many things were happening very quickly. New music styles were appearing, new dances were being created, new products to make life easier were being put on the market. Prohibition was also beginning to go into effect. This was the cause for much illegal activity. Many famous mobsters and underworld figures got into the bootleg business. Many very odd court cases also happened during the this decade. The Peaches v. Daddy case was the talk of the nation for a time. Science took many great strides during the '20s. The economy seemed to be fine until the Stock Market crashed at the end of the decade. During and after that time, jobs were lost, unemployment sky rocketed, and soup kitchens popped up like rabbits. Depression at the end of the decade was one of the most important events in the Twentieth Century.
