I have not had the opportunity to examine any of the newspaper references
below. Most of them are probably available only in locations near where
the newspaper was originally published. I would be glad to hear from anyone
who might have an opportunity to examine any of these articles. Please

2. Newspaper references to the 115th Pa. in Sauers,
Richard A., Advance the Colors!, Vol. 2(?), p. 380.
This book cites four articles written in June and July 1862, shortly after the regiment left Philadelphia for its first assigment. Since the book is about regimental flags, the articles are primarily on that subject as well:Phila.
