1. Newspaper references to the 115^th Pa. in Sauers, Richard A., Bibliography of Civil War Soldier Letters Printed in Pennsylvania Newspapers, 1861-1865:

This book was examined in the Civil War History Library and Museum in Philadelphia. It contained the following 8 articles in three newspapers (all dates are 19^th century, i.e., "1/7/63" is January 7, 1863). Ebinsburg and Johnstown are both in Cambria County, which was one of the counties from which Companies B and D were recruited:

 2. Newspaper references to the 115^th Pa. in Sauers, Richard A., Advance the Colors!, Vol. 2(?), p. 380.

This book cites four articles written in June and July 1862, shortly after the regiment left Philadelphia for its first assigment. Since the book is about regimental flags, the articles are primarily on that subject as well:
