and ALL PUBLIC SCHOOL RECORDS MAINTAINED REQUEST FORM
According to §59-65-47
of the South Carolina Code of Laws: Home schools; and
§20-7-100
of the South Carolina Code of Laws: Rights
and duties of parents in regard to their minor children:
All associations shall report the number and grade level of
children home schooled through the association to the children's respective
school districts; and
All home schools operating under §59-65-47 of the South
Carolina Code of Laws are not required to provide any “public school
or school district” with any information about their home school. Note:
§59-65-47 of the South Carolina Code of Laws specifically exempts all home
schools from the further mandates §59-65-40 and §59-65-45 of the South
Carolina Code of Laws; and
South Carolina Code of Law §20-7-100:
Rights and duties of parents in regard to their minor children. [SC ST SEC
20-7-100] "Each parent, whether the custodial or non custodial
parent of the child, has equal access and the same right to obtain "all
educational records and medical
records of their minor children"
and the right to participate in their children's school activities unless
prohibited by order of the court.
