Things to Do

Everything you could hope for in a vacation is wrapped up and waiting for you on the Grand Strand. Beautiful beaches. Delicious food. Fun-filled amusement parks. Unique shops. Historic sites. New adventures around every corner. The tough part will be deciding what to do first, or what not to do, because there’s no way to do it all. But don't let that stop you from trying!

Water ParkNaturally, the fun always starts at the beach, the Myrtle Beach area's No. 1 attraction. Sixty miles of beaches provide ample opportunities for fun: swimming, surfing, parasailing, shell collecting, sunbathing, Frisbee-throwing, sandcastle building, playing volleyball; the list is endless. Follow the crowd, or find a secluded beach to call your own. It's all here for you.

Water lovers have other places to play as well, such as the Intracoastal Waterway, which runs along the entire length of the Grand Strand, or the Waccamaw River, winding past historic plantations and other gorgeous scenery. Take a cruise aboard a riverboat, or rent a personal watercraft or pontoon boat. Landlovers can watch the boats go by at popular Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, which lies along the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. Enjoy a delicious meal or your favorite beverage in a waterfront restaurant, browse through specialty shops, or enjoy some quality time with the kids at one of several attractions, such as Alligator Adventure. While you're there, check out the lineup at the House of Blues and the Alabama Theatre, two of the area's best concert venues.

Amusement ParkAnother mega-center for fun is Broadway at the Beach, in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Dine in the colorful and lively atmosphere of restaurants like the Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood, find a favorite nightspot in Celebrity Circle, or bop from shop to shop in search of souvenirs. Feed the ducks and fish, or go for a paddleboat ride, in Broadway's huge lake. Explore the underwater world of Ripley's Aquarium. Or get up close and personal with butterflies, birds, and countless other critters at the brand-new Butterfly Pavilion.

Miniature GolfOf course, everyone who comes to the Myrtle Beach area must ride the rides. This is mandatory. The two biggest parks are Myrtle Beach Pavilion Amusement Park and Family Kingdom Amusement and Water Park. Ride the roller coasters, Ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, and more, and munch on cotton candy, corn dogs, snow cones, and other fun foods. In short, have a blast.

Don't forget about all the other great parks in the area - everything from cool water parks to hot racetracks.

Like playing "putt-putt"? We have close to 50 miniature golf courses. Of course, grown-up putters will be more interested in the 115 full-sized golf courses spread throughout the Grand Strand.

Speek Park - RacingFor a relaxing, wonder-filled outing, visit world-renowned Brookgreen Gardens, an outdoor sculpture garden showcasing the works of nearly 250 American sculptors. If you like, pack a picnic lunch, or take advantage of Brookgreen’s Terrace Cafe.

Go ahead, unwrap your vacation package; everything on your wish list is right here.
