As a teacher, I hear all sorts of things from not only students, but also from parents and other teachers.  I seldom take anything for granted, but try to research everything I am told to verify it.  After listening to many "hoax" stories (sometimes called "urban legends"), it seemed appropriate to feature some sites that deal exclusively in hoaxes and their explanations.  I do not endorse all of the material contained at these web sites.
