DOT’S BIO

 

Dot Kennedy has been playing guitar for over thirty years, captivating audiences in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, and Columbia, South Carolina. Dot is a graduate of Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California and currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina.

Her raspy vocals and raucous guitar solos give her original songs unique intensity. Dot performs a collection of cover tunes by artists such as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Johnny Lang, as well as originals crafted in a bluesy, pop-rock style.

Dot Kennedy Band--Dot, Ray, & Tom

Dot is currently playing around the state with bassist Tom Davidson and drummer Ray Middleton in The Dot Kennedy Band. The trio performs a variety of classic rock and blues, custom-crafted to triple the pleasure of your favorite nightclub, party, or special event.

Previously, in Saluda Bluff, Dot fronted the band, performing both rock and country tunes. Dot also performed as part of the duo 20 Wilmas with fellow local musician Rene Russell. Here, Dot revealed her versatility in the duo by playing guitar, bass, banjo and singing. Dot and Rene’s complementary musical styles, extensive repertoire, and audience rapport created a fun atmosphere and exceptional stage presence for every show.

Dot has also performed with Pamela Dale and Better Things, The J. Edwards Band, and has hosted open mic nights around town. She has written and performed songs for weddings and private parties.
