Sparkle In Santa's Eyes
Well Santa's time is drawing near and soon he'll disappear
for another year. I've been blessed with good weather and
have taken "Thunder" out for many rides and visits.
There have been lots of pictures, smiles, waves, horns and
Ho! Ho! Ho!'s. There's something special about seeing
Santa ride a shiny red Harley I guess.
It's always a let down for me to hang up the suit on Christmas
Eve and to put "Thunder" away but the memories get me through
till it's time once again for Santa to ride.
It's not unusual for me to be flagged over for pictures or to
talk
to kids so when it happened just the other day I thought nothing
of it. The gentleman asked me how much I charged for a visit
from
Santa and I explained that I didn't charge anything. We set up
a
time and he went on to explain that this was for his four year old
daughter who's mother had recently passed away.
The next day when I arrived, there she was with her dad waiting.
She was so excited to see Santa and started running toward me
with arms out. I got off of "Thunder" and we had a big hug.
We
talked, I gave her candy from the elves, showed her how "Magic
Dust" works and let her sit on "Thunder" She was so excited.
As we hugged and said our good-byes, she saw a sparkle and a
twinkle in Santa's eyes. Little did she know, they were just
tears.
